A reflection on English 11
A Reflection on English 11 1/26/12:
Reflecting upon the first semester of English 11,I can bravely say I have mastered the ways of an essay without being afraid of starting off with an intersting hook and continue on with my strong thesis. The texts we have read in class; "I Too Sing,America"-Langston Hughes,I must admit one of my favorite poems we read in class. To pick through the words and the backround of why he wrote it;it caught my attention and my desire to find out the meaning. Reading Huckleberry Finn was in truthful terms a major snoozer and confusing novel;not only is it boring but you think while reading the book,"God why didn't you just do this to make it all so simple for yourself.",but no.I feel after i think this and actually get hack into the reading that there is an explanation of why some of the characters make their situations more difficult;for the adventure.Yes the prefixes have been helpful, but will the root words? I have to talk about my favorite thing to do for this class;independent reading. I love to read no doubt, and in truth I'll be excited when we have to write an essay on one of the books we have read, because thankfully I have plenty to choose from. XOXO
